It's the first day of February, the shortest month of the year. January is officially gone and many people have already disregarded their resolutions. So let's talk about it. How do you keep your resolutions past the New Year?! Well, Whoever said "Mind Over Matter" was onto something. Get ya mind right! Mindset is a major factor in victory. A positive attitude makes a difference; you overcome impediments with ease and boost certainty. When you think emphatically, challenges persuade you, and you receive a solution-oriented approach. Dodging negative contemplations and keeping up positive thinking are significant to accomplishing resolutions. Practicing day by day assertions and appreciation makes a difference and keeps your attitude solid and focused. 


Moving Past Motivation

You're not ALWAYS going to be motivated. Every year, resolutions are usually set. Unused objectives with an attempt to make better strides in our lives. The New Year signals a new beginning, and we not only want, but need to see advancement in all areas. Inspiration is normally tall, but it is vital to keep it up. Every day you're not going to be inspired, so if you only are inclined to make major moves in moments of inspiration and motivation, what happens when you're not?


By March most people have scrapped their resolutions. Don't let that be you!

It is compelling to arrange little steps based on your everyday schedule and duties. This approach makes a difference; you create both certainty and reach. It is critical to set a timeline for each objective. Accomplishing an objective permits you to utilize your vitality successfully and persistently track progress, and isn't it exciting when you achieve mini goals?! Let's talk about it!

Priorities Distinguish What to do

It is imperative to be clear about almost all your life needs so that you can center your time and vitality in the right places. What is top priority vs low priority or mush? Mush, meaning things that serve no relevance and should be scrapped in order to excel. You'd be surprised how many people don't prioritize, don't know HOW to prioritize, or are unsure about their life's needs. Even starting with a simple income and expenses budget. What's coming in vs what's going out. Are you in the red each month or in the green? These are some basic essentials to bring more financial organized and monetarily sound. Setting needs makes a difference; you remain centered and dodge superfluous diversions. It is accommodating to survey and alter your needs each week or month. If your needs are steady, you will be more likely to adhere to your resolutions. Also seperating needs from wants. What you want today may interfere with what you need tomorrow.

Planning an Everyday Routine

  • Planning an everyday schedule makes a difference in your flow and your consistency.
  • Setting a clear structure for each day makes a difference in keeping up with goals.
  • The schedule ought to be straightforward and practical so that it is not troublesome to follow.
  • Planning in the morning and reflecting at night progresses performance.
  • Stopping time and taking brief breaks reduces depletion and stress.
  • Take time to jot down your Majors and your Minors

Majors and Minors, Like In College, But For Real Life

So in my Soft Life Coaching, I have people do what I call Habit Tracking. Whether for 5 or 7 days I have them track their daily habits and If they purchased anything it asks: "Was this conducive to your highest self/your goals?" At the end of this exercise I know a little something more about my client, what they do and don't do, like their passion may be to be a best-selling author, but in their spare time they binge-watch Netflix. I also get a snapshot of where the money holes are, daily trips to Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, or incessant splurges at Target and Sephora, but they struggle with bills or drowning in debt. Small changes make a big impact.



So I created a worksheet called Majors and Minors. Major is at the top of the sheet, and that is the BIGGER picture. For example, let's say your major is investing in a property. The minors would be the bullet points and checklists to make that a reality. So if the Major is investing in a property the assignment and checklists may look like this:

Major: Invest In A Real Estate Property

Minors:
  • Do some market research on the best areas that suit my needs
  • How's my credit? Pull my credit reports
  • Pay off outstanding credit debt
  • How's my savings? Do I need to save more? What's in the bank account?
  • What are the banks looking for exactly?
  • Do I want or need a broker or an agent/realtor?
  • No other big-ticket purchases till after we get the house
  • No frivolous spending till after we get the house
  • Is this a dream home or an income property?
  • Income property makes more sense, we can use that to purchase a dream home
  • Research what it takes to be a landlord and renters' rights in my district
  • Am I mentally prepared to be a landlord?

When you add deadlines to those minors, now you're cooking with hot grease because you know at the end of that rainbow, there's a real estate property in your possession, because you crossed down your list and did all the things that needed to be done. You know what doesn't get the job done? Waking up and "wingin' it" with no direction.

Recognizing and Esteeming Progress

Recognizing indeed the littlest advance is spurring. When an individual sees their everyday and week-by-week enhancements, self-confidence is fortified. Each little step is a positive flag that gives strength to move forward. By esteeming advance, exertion is not squandered.

This framework plays a solid part in turning resolutions into habits, because in reality all a resolution is, a consistency training to break bad habits, clean up the mess the bad habits made and form new ones.

Sharing gives support and fortifies enthusiastic bolster. It diminishes stress and builds certainty. Self-esteem progresses when others praise you. Choose to Have a Responsibility Partner


Oftentimes when I set challenge for myself, I open it up to friends, family and sometimes even social media so I can have accountability partners, as I'm doing with the current $10k challenge I have going on, I even created a Skool community for people of like mind who are SERIOUS about it!
